Executive Skill (Academic Strategy) Support can help an individual stay on track with school, work or life obligations while providing specific tools and strategies recommended by leading learning specialists. Available for late elementary and high school students, young adults as well as adults.
LATE ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL
With this age group, we are primarily supporting the executive skills involved in planning, organization, time and materials management as well as “metacognition” (thinking about how we think and operate). Since many of our students learn differently, support is also offered for IEP planning, dealing with school Learning Resource Departments and understanding educational psychological assessment results. Executive Skill (Academic Strategy) Support works best on a weekly basis.
For young adults in post secondary education, looking for work or in transition from high school, we help with ongoing Executive Skill (Academic Strategy) Support for classes, post-secondary course planning, communication with post secondary Disability Resource Centers, job search and general life planning. Many of our high school students continue on with us into young adulthood. Executive Skill (Academic Strategy) Support works best when a post secondary student is supported on a weekly basis. For young adults in transition, support is available weekly, bi-weekly or on an as-needed basis.
Many adults have un-diagnosed learning issues or ADHD, or simply find themselves feeling overwhelmed at work or in higher educational settings. We can help by teaching methods to enhance planning, organization, time and materials management. As well, adults frequently need help with ingrained patterns of procrastination. Executive Skill Coaching is available weekly, biweekly or on an as-needed basis for adults.
